This page explains what DaySensei keeps, where it goes and how you can delete it. We wrote it in plain words.
What we keep on our servers
If you use DaySensei Free without an account, we hold no account data about you.
If you create an account, we keep:
- Your email address.
- How you sign in (for example Google or email).
- Your plan: which plan, from which store, and when it starts, renews and ends.
- Monthly usage counts for Pro AI: questions asked, deep questions, off-topic questions and an estimated cost.
We keep this until you delete your account.
We never keep your notes. Your notes live on your phone.
Passwords
Our servers never receive or store your password.
If you sign in with email, your password goes straight from the app to Google’s Firebase Authentication. Firebase checks it.
DaySensei AI (Pro)
When you ask a question, the app sends your question to our server. It also sends the small results the app works out from your notes for that answer.
Our server passes them to Anthropic (Claude) to make the answer. They are never used to train AI.
Our server keeps them only while the answer is being made: at most 10 minutes, then deleted. They are never stored as notes.
Note reading and the daily Sensei line for Pro work the same way. They are not kept after the request.
Our AI gateway (Cloudflare) logs only counts, cost and errors. It never logs the text.
Your own key
If you use your own key, the app sends your request straight from your phone to the AI company you chose: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or xAI.
It does not pass through our server. The company’s own terms apply.
Account emails
If you ask to reset your password or need to confirm your email, we send you a message through Cloudflare Email Service.
These messages have no tracking pixels and no tracked links.
Anonymous usage counts
DaySensei sends anonymous usage counts to PostHog, hosted in the EU.
Each phone uses a random anonymous id. We never send note text, questions, file names or your email. We never send your IP address, and PostHog discards it.
This is on by default. You can turn it off with “Share anonymous usage” in Settings → Privacy.
We keep these counts for 12 months.
Crash reports
The Android app sends crash reports to Firebase Crashlytics (Google). They never include note text.
This is on by default. You can turn it off with its own switch in Settings → Privacy.
Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days.
Payments
Google Play handles your payment. We receive the purchase status. We never receive your card details.
We keep a one-way hash of each purchase token, so one purchase cannot be shared across accounts.
This website
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless. The site sets no cookies.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account.
You can also ask by email from the Delete account page on this website (daysensei.com/delete-account).
We delete your email, your plan, your usage counts and your Firebase account. Notes on your phone stay.
We keep two things after deletion:
- A one-way hash of your account id, so old sign-ins cannot bring the account back.
- The one-way hashes of your purchase tokens, for fraud checks.
We keep both for 2 years after deletion. Then we delete them.
